NCTSOnline Privacy Policy

North Carolina Title Services respects your privacy. We assure you that any personal information we collect from users of the NCTSOnline web application (such as email address or fax number) is used solely to enhance the security and functionality of the NCTS web application and to bring you new information about our services.

NCTS protects your personal information (see our security policy for details) and does not share this information with any other organization unless required by law or industry regulations. This means that NCTS will not resell or provide your personal or business information to mass marketers.

Cookies

NCTS does not use cookies to track your use of the Internet or in an attempt to gather any other information about you. We do use two types of cookies in order to enhance your NCTS Online experience and to provide maximum security of your online transactions. To get the most out of NCTSOnline you will need to ensure that your browser security settings allow both of the following cookie types for our web site:

  • Persistent Cookies: When you visit the NCTSOnline web site and login the web application creates a cookie that resides on your local computer and stores your username and/or fax number. This is done as a convenience to you so that this information need not be typed in next time you visit the web site from your computer. Your password is not written to the cookie so the information in this cookie doesn’t jeopardize the security of your account.
  • Session Cookies: NCTSOnline relies on a “session cookie” that exists in your web browser for only as long as that instance of the browser runs. This cookie holds your special security token that allows you to login once yet visit many pages within the NCTSOnline web application. When you close your browser or when the time-limited session cookie expires you are required to log in to reestablish your credentials. It is recommended that you either log out of NCTSOnline and/or close the browser you were using to access NCTSOnline after you are done using the site to avoid other users of your computer from potentially using lingering session cookies to access your account.
